Mother of a 7 year old girl
I was an academic in the UK before, but the weather was so bad that I felt I had to go somewhere else. I applied for this job in Geneva and I got it!
I was very happy to go back to work after the maternity leave, to get my own life back. What was hard, though, was that my daughter got sick all the time. Soon I realized that I had sent her to the crèche a bit too early. She was just six months old. If I had known what the consequences would have been, the amount of antibiotics she would have to take… I would have waited until she was one-year-old.
Four years after the separation, my daughter is fine and happy at school, but we, the parents, are still struggling with solving the key dilemma of sharing time with our daughter. The question is how to balance equal rights and duties between the parents without 'cutting the child in half'!

In the meantime, I have taken up more responsibilities at work and manage a 'small business' at home to make sure everyone (my daughter, myself and the dog) is looked after until I come home.
